VPN server locations

VPNmine runs OpenVPN servers in 19 countries, and every one of them is open to every user at no cost. Pick a location by hand in any VPNmine app, or let the app connect to the closest. Each page below covers what that server is for, how the country's internet is built and what its law requires.

How to choose a location

For speed, pick the country closest to you. Latency is dominated by distance, and no amount of server tuning beats a shorter cable: a round trip from London to Sydney is over 250 ms before anything is encrypted. For reaching a service that checks where you are, pick the country you want to appear to be in and accept the latency that comes with it.

Every VPNmine app can also pick for you. Choosing the closest server automatically is the right default for the common case, which is encrypting a connection on a network you do not control rather than moving yourself somewhere specific.

What every location has in common

  • Hardware we rent and configure. No recycled public relay lists, and no routing your traffic through other people's devices to fund a free tier.
  • The same OpenVPN configuration. AES encryption on every desktop, mobile and TV client. The browser extension proxies through the same network instead, because an extension cannot open a system-wide tunnel.
  • The same logging policy. Which server a session used and when, because abuse handling needs it. Never browsing history, DNS queries or traffic content. The detail is in the privacy policy.
  • No charge and no card. Every location is open to every user, with no ads and no payment details.

Check that it is doing what you think

Connect, then confirm rather than assume. Our IP checker shows which address and country sites now see, the DNS leak test shows whether your domain lookups are still escaping to your own provider, and the speed test, run once with the VPN off and once with it on, shows what the tunnel actually costs you.

Every location, at no cost

One account covers all 19 countries on desktop, phone, TV and browser. No ads, no card required, and no record of the sites you open.
